Aidan O’Brien Can let Lope Y Fernandez along with Monarch Of Egypt line up for the Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket after this month.
Lope Y Fernandez appeared another Ballydoyle celebrity in the making after an impressive racecourse debut at the Curragh but was behind the Charlie Appleby-trained Pinatubo in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Vintage at Goodwood.
He bounced back to winning ways at the Group Three Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh, and O’Brien is keen to keep him at six furlongs – at Newmarket on September 28.
He said:”We fell him back and he seems to better at six than seven – it appears like something for this stallion (Lope De Vega).
“I believe that it could function as Middle Park next as that has been the reason we dropped him back.
“We’re very satisfied with him and he should progress from that run.”
Monarch Of Egypt was another since when he has discovered the Ger Lyons-trained Siskin too powerful in the Railway and the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh to impress at Naas.
O’Brien added:”Monarch Of Egypt will visit the Middle Park – that’s the strategy along with him.
“We could go around seven furlongs after that, but he’s a horse we’re excited about seeing.”
