The Oakland Athletics aren’t being intimidated in the least little from the Astros in Houston this week. With one game remaining in this show, the Athletics have a chance to win three out of four matches in Houston. That is not simple to do and it only goes to show that the A’s are determined to enter the postseason.
Nobody can say. They’re among the teams that are more difficult to find a finger on in baseball. The A’s move on these fine runs contrary to competition and just as easily can regress against teams the next minute.
Oakland can not manage any regression now. They may be having a good time at Houston against the’Stros, however, it will not promise much. The A’s are relegated into a half game lead for the wildcard from the American League going into today. A three-game winning series in Houston and they have a lead going into the weekend. The Indians edged out that the Angels in Anaheim to keep up.
Last night it had been Brett Anderson. He was effective in five innings, using only 2 earned runs while the bullpen was strong as well in relief function. After hammering the Astros by a soccer score of 21-7 the night ahead, there was no letdown for the next day.
In the previous two days, they’ve outscored the Astros 26-10. If they wish to steer clear of a series split and choose the win, then the A’s and the Homer Bailey are likely to need to do it. Not an easy task, but beating the Astros two is not simple. Head below for our complimentary Athletics vs. Astros pick.

This looks like a daunting undertaking for the Oakland Athletics tonight. To win the series and receive three from four wins on the street in Houston, it’s going to need to occur with Homer Bailey outpitching Justin Verlander. That seems like crazy talk, but Bailey has somehow been able to find the fountain of youth and turned back the clocks.
Without a decent time since 2014, Bailey has been pitching pretty well in what has been his final opportunity. Another terribly year and I could not see how he would find work in 2020. He moves to this one with a 4.87 ERA and also 1.35 WHIP involving the Royals and A’s. Bailey has discovered gold recently and hasn’t looked this good together with the Reds since 2014. In his past five starts, 3 or fewer runs have been allowed by Homer for a run. Would he sustain it in Houston?
Bailey has pitched than at home that season, therefore there’s a reason. While he’s got an ERA of 3.80 ERA and 1.28 WHIP at home, those amounts balloon into a 6.38 ERA and 1.45 WHIP around the street. The’Stros are hitting .321 with a .384 OBP against him 78 at-bats. They’ve connected for 16 runs and 6 home runs. Oddly, the A’s are hitting just .218 at 165 plate appearances against JV.
Verlander heads into Thursday on flame using a 0.42 ERA along with 0.47 WHIP in his past three outings. He is allowed just 1-run in his past 21.1 innings of playwith. This includes a no-hitter against the Blue Jays in Toronto. JV has generally been improved in Minute Maid Park, however, where he possesses a 2.29 ERA and 0.77 WHIP at 94.1 innings. Regardless of the drama by Oakland that the last two days, there looks to be a value on Verlander against Homer Bailey inside this area.
