As he conquer Kimmer Coppejans from the opening round of the European 27, andy Murray won his first ATP Tour-level match in Europe.
The former world number only continued his return in hip surgery by defeating wildcard Coppejans, rated 158th in the world, 6-4 7-6 (7-4).
Murray, 32, will face eighth seed Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay or Bolivian Hugo Dellien in the last 16 after this week.
Fellow Briton Cameron Norrie dropped 7-6 (7-2) 6-4 to Spains Feliciano Lopez.
Lopez, 38, went on to win in 29 seconds and an hour and asserted the only break of serve in the fifth game of the second set.
Norrie, ranked 61, had Lopez at 0-40 in the final game of the match but was not able to break back.
Despite the defeat Norrie will grow to be the British number two behind Dan Evans, who substituted Kyle Edmund at the top of the national rankings on Monday.
Edmund, who won the championship in 2018, dropped in qualifying and is set to fall beyond the world top 70.

Murray, now rated 243rd on earth, held a 3-0 lead against his 25-year-old competition in the first place however three faults resulted in him being broken back, but the Scot broke again in the game.
He clinched the next set at a tie-break at a game that lasted 1 hour 44 minutes.
Antwerp is likely to be Murrays last tournament of this year, together with the exception of the Davis Cup next month.
