You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello (Hello, Hello)

After a year and a 1 / 2 of (virtually) working with you, our supporters, we think it is bittersweet to express that this is my final weblog post. Today is my final day at USC. Sharing my voice through your blog happens to be this kind of fun experience that is learning. I had been in a position to discover a passion for web development and user design/experience, and We am excited to state I am forever grateful for the time I’ve spent at USC and I can’t say enough about my personal and professional development while I’ve been here that I will be moving on to continue working in that field. The individuals who work right listed here are superb at what they do; you are typical in good arms. It is especially inspiring to the office every day alongside colleagues who truly care about this work. They have been colleagues, but i will be honored to also phone them friends.
Finally, it couldn’t be a weblog post without my typical list. Listed here are the top 3 things I learned throughout my two and a years that are half USC.

Do not Stop Learning
For every body that are planning to begin with college, the next four years will likely be the last time in your daily life that the job is always to discover. Learning is exactly that which you will be doing 24/7. Carry this nature of learning with you once you have graduated and approach every single day comprehending that there is constantly more to master.

Free Food rocks !
In reality, this is budget advice. I’ve discovered so I always take advantage of free food that I spend the most money on food shmoop pro every month. The mistake was made by me of using too long to determine just how to monitor my money. Like John Maxwell said, ‘Tell your cash where you should go alternatively of wondering where it went.’

Diversity Rules
I like my workplace for multiple reasons; one of them is due to the various backgrounds of my peers. There exists an operating joke within the workplace that we sometimes look just like a United Colors of Benetton advertising due to exactly how diverse we are (so we dress ON POINT). However in most severity, being around my colleagues has triggered me personally to learn more about other peoples’ experiences and perspectives. Learn to understand the benefits of diversity. You’ll be an improved frontrunner, community member, employee, employer, and being that is human.

Well, that’s it for me. To my pupils from Napa, Sonoma, Santa Rosa, Davis and the state of Washington, I will dearly miss you during travel season. It is truly been a pleasure serving all of you and in the expressed terms of Ron Burgundy, ‘Stay classy and thanks for stopping by.’

We now hand you down to your blogger that is new and colleague, the hostest because of the mostest, Sam Schreiber.

Hey everyone else!My title is Sam and I am so excited to be joining the USC Admission we Blog! I’ve been working at work for pretty much four years now and have caused Houston, Austin, San Antonio plus the coast that is central of since we began. I’m from SoCal and attended Calabasas senior high school before you go to Nashville, TN for college. At Vanderbilt, we twice majored in Spanish and therapy and then came ultimately back to LA and did a masters in social work only at USC.

I happened to be really associated with the admission office at Vandy (that is what the cool kids call it, I vow), and dabbled in graduate school also, so pursuing college admissions as a vocation was always on my mind. Along with having the ability to try out a part in degree by having a great number of peers, I enjoy using prospective and current students. My concept is I stopped growing up at around age 16, nonetheless it is also feasible children these days are simply super cool.

I hope to bring an truthful and authentic perspective to the admission blog and assist people see that the admission counselors actually are simply as if you, whoever you are. I have no question that whatever topics We cover you will have individual anecdotes thrown in there (and probably cat pictures) but also hope to provide insight into exactly what is a very process that is human. Thanks for reading!
