Saturday the promising start to the season of kentucky struck a pothole that was specially harsh.
In their approach to moving 2-0 on the year, the Wildcats lost quarterback Terry Wilson.
Wilson started all 13 games a year ago, showing an arm and harmful rushing threat that helped lead Kentucky.
In his place, Kentucky will begin copy Sawyer Smith, who travelled 5-for-9 for 72 yards and two scores after Wilson went down.
Smith is a transfer from Troy. After taking over as a starter last year, passing for 1,669 yards and 14 touchdowns he moved 5-2.
Kentucky’s defense has given up 366.5 yards and 20.5 points per game this year, but it is going to get a boost, thanks to the NCAA.
Linebacker Xavier Peters, who transferred from Florida State, has been cleared to perform and is expected to play against the Gators.
The recruit saw action during the redshirt year of last season in two games.
