1 – How can I get motivated to start a healthy/active lifestyle?

The first thing has to come from YOU. You have to be ready to embark on a whole new lifestyle and journey. If you’re not mentally ready you won’t be successful.

2 – What are your best tips to get a flat stomach?

First, you need to lay off the booze and consume the greens! I suggest a little cardio and exercises to target the abdominal region. A few of my favorite ab exercises include Mountain Climbers, Med Ball exercises and Leg Raises.

3 – Do I need to take supplements? Why?

Supplements aren’t a necessity. For a beginner, I would suggest starting with multi vitamin and possibly starting supplements down the road if desired.

4 – Do you think it’s easier for guys to lose weight than it is for women? Why?

Guys tend to lose weight faster because muscle absorbs fat. Guys are generally more muscular than women. Muscle burns fat so they tend to lose weight quicker. It’s still an obstacle for men at any rate.

5 – What is the most underrated concept in fitness?

For a beginner, it’s super important to stretch prior to working out. You can easily hurt yourself or cause yourself to be more sore than necessarily. Those two things alone will discourage you from wanting to go back to the gym. It’s easier for your body to adjust and heal properly with prior stretching and mobility drills.

6 – How do you make exercise a more enjoyable activity?

You need to be in a comfortable environment, familiar with your exercises, and have your Ipod and headphones ready to get lost in the moment.

7 – How much is too training?

A hour a day, three times a week is what is recommended for beginners. Anymore can hurt your body and discourage you from wanting to go back.

8 – Please, give us your best pre-workout tips

Foam rolling, ankle and hip mobility drills to get your body warmed up.

9 – What’s a good exercise & diet routine?

You need a high protein diet if you’re going to be exercising. Limit your carbs, bread and alcohol. I suggest doing cardio training one day, strength training the next day and yoga another day.

10 – What newbie mistakes did you make when you first started training?

I didn’t stretch as much as I needed to.
