Javi Gracia says that he was amazed by Watford’s”sudden” and”sudden” choice to sack him on Saturday.
The Hornets re-appointed after taking just 1 point from their four Premier League matches of the year former supervisor Quique Sanchez Flores.
After having lead Watford to win in their last ten games, a run that stretched back into 25,, gracia left Vicarage Road.
However, the Spaniard says that he was amazed by the sudden decision having accepted the club into a Premier League finish – their best from the Premier League age – and the FA Cup final in 2018/19.
“After the unexpected announcement about the termination of my contract after just four games, I want to express my shock after rival the best season in Watford’s history,” Gracia said in a statement.
“I respect this decision and I’d like to guarantee the exceptional relationship I have with Gino Pozzo and Filippo Giradi, also it’s not going to change despite my sudden exit of this club.
“I’m thankful to this bar for allowing me to handle this wonderful club in the Premier League, it’s been an amazing adventure, with very particular moments like the FA Cup final I had the chance to enjoy.
“I want to thank every single person who works to get this particular club and has made my everyday quite straightforward. My gratefullness and love with this club will be ceaseless.
“And finally, I would like to thank the fans for supporting me the way they did from day one, until my last. I’ll always wish the fans and those players the very best.”
Gracia was less than a year into a season contract at Vicarage Road. Watford had the choice to expand the bargain.
