The Patriots discovered Thomas expendable since they signed Antonio Brown on Saturday compared to the purchase of Randy Moss.

Brown signed deal with also a team option for another year that would pay $20 million if the Patriots opt in, ensured to him along with $ 9 million.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Patriots delivered veteran wide receiver Demaryius Thomas for a 2021 draft pick.
“More Antonio Brown fallout: Patriots are now trading WR Demaryius Thomas in the division into the NY Jets for a 2021 sixth-round choice, sources tell ESPN.”
The agreement marks. Since taking on as Patriots head coach, he has now made at least one transaction with every group in the NFL. The last time that the Patriots made a transaction they delivered three draft picks, for example the best along with a 2000 first-rounder for two Jets draft picks.
Demaryius Thomas was surprisingly launched by the Patriots in their final roster cuts on September 31 but re-signed him after putting receiver N’Keal Harry on injured reserve.
Thomas shined at the finale for the Patriots at the 31-29 loss against the Giants, catching seven passes on eight targets for two touchdowns and 87 receiving yards, only eight weeks removed when he was using the Texans from tearing his Achilles.
Demaryius Thomas was nursing a hamstring injury last week that kept him out of this 33-3 Week 1 win on Sunday Night Football against the Steelers and together with the Patriots having depth at wide receiver, there wasn’t any need for Thomas on the roster.
As explained by Brian Phillips of all SB Nation:”The #Patriots need to get thrilled to have found a trade companion for DT. Cutting him would not have saved any money against the cap because he’s eligible for termination pay”
New England gained some value from Demaryius Thomas rather than releasing him having to cover some of his wages and Thomas will be reunited by this movement with Adam Gase. Gase, the head coach of the Jets, can get the most out of Thomas and either side can benefit from it. Intertops has the Jets as 2.5-point home underdogs for their Week 2 game against the Browns on Monday Night Football.
