Rory McIlroy was happy after bouncing back to move back into contention at the DP World Tour Championship to have learnt.
McIlroy headed into the weekend strokes off the pace in Jumeriah Golf Estates after following his opening-round 64 using a 74 to muster in Dubai on Saturday.
Before adding three birdies in a bogey-free round the world accompanied gains posting a gorgeous eagle at the par-five seventh.
The Northern Irishman sits and within two chambers of Mike Lorenzo-Vera along with leaders Jon Rahm, with McIlroy pleased to still have an opportunity of a worldwide victory of the year.
I presume, not just golf, but that is what life is about, McIlroy said. It is learning from what you are doing and being a current mind so that you can learn as you move.
I kind of figured out what I did yesterday, and I was able to rectify it marginally today and get myself back in the tournament.
Youve got Tommy (Fleetwood) and Jon up there, of course, and Mike is holding stable in the top. He [Lorenzo-Vera] played.
I will need to go out there and shoot a comparable dent tomorrow to what I did now to actually have a chance. But just very happy that I got myself back into the golf course.
Lorenzo-Vera went to the day with a three-stroke edge and extended his pillow to four with three birdies at a four-hole stretch from the first time , only to discard his outright lead.
I think I played better today than yesterday, Lorenzo-Vera stated. Some greater shots all day long and long, I believe we messed up a little with the alternative of club off the tee on 18. That wasnt catalyst.
This was a bit too aggressive, but thats the match and I tried my very best. We all know tomorrow at this wind it wont be the catalyst on 18.
You dont control anything except your mind. That is the one thing you can control tomorrow, so I simply hope for the identical game program and lets see whether the golf would like to give me something else
