Following the New Orleans Saints extended Cameron Jordan’s contract last week, the guy in line for a payday loan is receiver Michael Thomas.
Those talks are under way.

General manager Mickey Loomis told Adam Schein on Mad Dog Sports Radio lately the Saints have had”some conversations” to a new contract to its star receiver but would not go into detail.
“We have had some conversations, and I enjoy keeping that close to the vest until there’s something to report, but lookwe adore what Mike’s done for us,” Loomis said. “He is a fantastic player, among the very best in his position in the league, and hopefully we can keep him a Saint for a long time too.”
The Saints go-to getting goal, Thomas has become one of the dangers in the NFL, compiling 1,000-plus yards along with a least 90 catches all his first three seasons in the league. Since Drew Brees’ security blanket, the wideout that is 26-year-old is currently coming off a 125-catch season.
A second-round choice in 2016, Thomas enters the last period of his rookie contract, set to create $1.148 million — peanuts compared to his values. There is very little doubt that the Saints would love to keep their No. 1 goal paid and happy. But the franchise tag appears to be likely for the star receiver if it doesn’t occur within the next few months.
